Twenty-Four

I just finished watching Season 1 of "24". I know most of you are probably way beyond discussing it at this point, but I have some comments.

- One of the things that drives me nuts about movies and TV shows is when there are plot inconsistencies and/or when they try to pass off impossible stuff as totally plausible. Surprisingly this show managed to keep them to a minimum. Sure there was a fair amount of magic bullet dodging, and surprisingly little traffic in LA at all hours of the day, and the way it was pretty sunny at the end of the 7:00 p.m. hour and pitch black at the beginning of the 8:00 p.m. hour. (you might not have noticed that unless you watched the two episodes back-back on the DVD). Overall, though, it was pretty good.

- I hated Palmer's wife from the very first scene, but frankly was pretty bored with that entire subplot.

- Dennis Hopper has the worst Eastern European accent I think I have ever heard.

- I really liked the ending (my wife did NOT). I hate shows that have fantastic cliff-hangers at the end of one season only to find out in the beginning of next season that it was relatively meaningless. This was an actual ending - even if it wasn't a happy one.

- Overall, very good and I can't wait until I start watching Season 2.

yeah, i watched season one on dvd in september.

(i cranked out 4 seasons in 4 months. i didnt sleep much)

there are definitely more flaws and conituinity errors in seasons 4 and 5. probably because they have an established, devoted audience now so they dont have to try as hard, i dont know.

i hated teri bauer and was glad to see her eliminated from the cast.

but yeah, the 2nd season is awesome too.
